Welcome To Great Falls

Great Falls, a uniquely beautiful area of hills, forests, and streams is about sixteen miles west of Washington D.C. Although there are no real boundaries, it is generally considered to be bounded on the west by Loudoun County; on the east by Old Dominion Road ; on the south by Leesburg Pike, and on the north by the Potomac River . Efforts to save the countryside from encroaching development have been very successful.

The main road into Great Falls , the Georgetown Pike, winds through the rugged, forested hills, and has been declared a Scenic and Historic Byway by the Virginia Department of Highways.

Today, Great Falls is a fast growing, residential area, limited to single detached homes on half acre to estate sized lots with a price range from $750,000 to $20,000,000. Basically rural, the area contains much parkland, several significant historic sites, including the restored Colvin Run Mill. It is a haven for horse lovers and privacy seekers.
